• An interview with Kirkland Newman Smulders, a journalist and synthesizer extraordinaire who is the Executive Director of Integrative Medicine for Mental Health consortium. We discuss how complex developmental trauma clients experience a host of chronic and "treatment resistant" ailments across all bodily systems that can be misdiagnosed as mental health disorders and how they are not adequately addressed with current modern medical practices, and our ideas for change.
• An interview with Mariah Rooney, a trauma therapist and researcher who has worked for Bessel van der Kolk at his Trauma Center in Boston, MA. Leveraging the wisdom of the body and the power of the stories we tell, Mariah will discuss ways in which embodied narratives become predictors for how clients (and all of us humans) see themselves, interact with others, and interact with the world. They explore how research in developmental trauma and sensory processing can transform the embodied narratives our clients carry from their histories into empowered stories for their futures.
• An interview with an Occupational Therapist (shhhh....it'll be a surprise!), who will unpack how retained primitive reflexes impacts the sensory systems, the nervous system and the musculo-skeletal system....and how we can mis-diagnose retained primitive reflexes as ADHD!
